Mode of Action

• Systemic Absorption: Absorbed through the roots and foliage.
•   Translocation: Travels through the xylem and phloem to the plant's meristematic regions. 
• Inhibition of ALS: Blocks the acetohydroxyacid synthase (AHAS) enzyme, which prevents the production of branched-chain amino acids (like leucine, isoleucine, and valine). 
• Effect: The lack of these amino acids disrupts protein and DNA synthesis, leading to the suppression and eventual death of weeds. 
• Target Weeds and Crops Weeds: Controls a wide range of grasses, broadleaf weeds, and sedges. 
• Crops: Primarily used in soybeans, groundnuts, and other leguminous crops.
