CROWN INSECTICDE

Mode of action: The beneficial nematodes (Heterorhabditis indica) present in the product CROWN (10000 IJs/gram) controls the white grubs, by penetrating into its body cavity through natural openings & releasing the infective bacteria that multiply and kills the root grub. Infected grubs turn red and can be differentiated from live grubs.

Target Insects/pests: Root grub

Number of application: Minimum two.

Crops Recommended: All crops.

Dosage: 2kg /acre

Mode and Time of application:

• Crown should be applied during the evening hours, early in the season (1st beetle emergence during the onset summer shower).
• Thoroughly mix with 100 kg soil or FYM and broadcast in the field before sowing or transplanting the seedlings.
• Irrigate the field before and after application. Additional watering helps to ensure that all nematodes are uniformly distributed and ample moisture increases the generation of nematodes and control rates of the grub population.

Irrigation Application:

• Prior to application irrigate the crop to ensure that the soil is moist.
• Mix the EPN with water (150g in sprayer tank with 15L capacity) and apply using knapsack sprayer with not more than 30psi.
• It can also be applied through drip irrigation as per recommended dosage after filtering the material with cloth filter.
• Make a 15-20cm pit using crowbar for crops like sugarcane or maize and pour 20-30ml.
