Product Description
About Tapas VAM SP Bio-Fertilizer
Tapas VAM SP is a biofertilizer containing Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhiza, a beneficial fungus that helps in nutrient absorption, water uptake, and fight stress conditions.
VAM SP helps in:
- Establishing strong root systems, especially those consisting of more white roots.
- Aides in both water and nutrient uptake, especially phosphorous.
- Fighting both biotic and abiotic stress conditions.
- Helps in efficient transport of mineral nutrition and water from soil to the plant and improves plant growth.
- Promotes overall root & plant growth and increases the yield.
- Aggregates soil particles and increase water holding capacity.
- Tapas VAM SP also plays an important role in improving soil texture by binding soil particles together.
Tapas VAM SP Technical Composition
VAM SP contains Mycorrhizal viable propagules with 125 spores/g. The infectivity potential of the formulation is 1200 IP/g. The formulation confirms FCO 1985 standard prescribed for Mycorrhiza biofertilizer.

Mode of Action:
Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorrhizae form a symbiotic relationship with plant roots by colonizing them and supplying nutrients to the plants in exchange for carbohydrates. The fungus further penetrates the soil expanding root zones and acquiring multiple nutrients.

VAM SP Biofertilizer Compatibility
- Mixing Tapas VAM SP with other fertilizers (DAP), fungicides and applied on stagnated water may not yield expected results. Hence, it is recommended to be used alone.
Tapas VAM SP Benefits
- Penetrates deep into the soil and makes nutrients available for the plants to uptake phosphorous, sulphur, calcium, and zinc.
- Reduces Phosphorous requirement by 25-30%
- Helps plants use existing soil phosphorus more efficiently (30–80% more uptake)
- Transports nutrients to needy plants by carrying them from plants with excessive nutrients resulting in uniform plant growth and balanced nutrition.
- Improves soil microbial activity leading to high organic matter content.
- Offers natural defense against diseases: Shields plants from common soil-borne diseases like wilt.
- Improves water use efficiency and reduces irrigation requirements.
- Promotes Vigorous Plant Growth, supports seed germination, hormone production, and photosynthesis, leading to healthier, more resilient plants.
- Increases Yield Potential, combines improved root systems, nutrient efficiency, and plant health to maximize harvest outcomes.
How to Use VAM SP Bio Fertilizer
The applications mentioned below can be used based on feasibility. However, it is always recommended to apply at an early crop stage.
- Step 1: Carefully tear and open the Tapas VAM SP pouch.
- Step 2: Use recommended dose of VAM SP based on crop growth stages like:
- At Soil Preparation: 100-200 g VAM SP mixed with FYM / compost (50–100 kg) broadcast on soil.
- Early Vegetative Stage (if missed earlier) Soil application: Mix 100 g VAM SP in 150–200 liters of water and apply near the root zone 10–20 days after transplanting. Repeat the application at 50–60 days after transplanting or sowing.
- Soil Application: If missed during land preparation or Early stage of plants, mix 100–200 g VAM SP with 50–100 kg FYM/compost and apply near the root zone of the standing crop at any stage.
- Seed dressing: Dissolve 10g of VAM SP in required quantity of water and coat 1 kg seed. Shade dry coated seeds and sow.
- Seedling Treatment: Dissolve 25 g of the powder in 10 liters of water and mix thoroughly. Dip the plant roots in the prepared solution before transplanting.
- Drenching: Dissolve 100g of VAM SP in 150-200 liters of water to cover 1acre land. Spray the solution through the spray machine near the rootzone.
- Drip: The solution can also be given through feeder tank to drench 1 acre land.
Avoid Using When:
- High phosphorus fertilizers (DAP) have already been applied.
- Field is waterlogged.
- Strong fungicides are used near the root zone.
Why Choose Tapas VAM SP?
- VAM SP improves soil and root health and reduces phosphorous requirements by 25-30%.
- Enhances plants' resistance to draught conditions and helps in overall plant growth and yield improvement.
- Protects plants from root and soil-borne diseases.
- Most importantly, it improves soil activity and helps unlock nutrients from soil for plant absorption.
- Fits well with the standards of sustainable farming practices.
