  • It is more prominently used on cherry farms to kill off the cherry fruit fly.
  • Acetamiprid has a fast knockdown effect on insects.
  • Provides broad-spectrum control.

MODE OF ACTION

  • Acetamiprid is a nicotine-like substance and reacts to the body in a similar way as nicotine.[5] Nicotine is a natural insecticide of which many man-made insecticides are derivatives. Acetamiprid is a nicotinic agonist that reacts with nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. These receptors are located in the post-synaptic dendrites of all neurons in the brain, spinal cord, ganglia and muscular junctions. The activation of the nACh-R receptors causes hyperactivity and muscle spasms, and eventually death. Acetamiprid is highly toxic to insects, but less to mammals.
  • Acetamiprid 20% SP is a type of insecticide that contains 20% active ingredient acetamiprid as a soluble powder (SP) formulation. It is a neonicotinoid insecticide that works by binding to and activating the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors in the nervous system of insects, leading to their paralysis and eventual death.
