It outcompetes pathogens by rapid growth, produces over 200 antibiotics and enzymes like protease and chitinase, inhibiting pathogen growth. Trichoderma's enzymes can be used in transgenic plants for pathogen defense. Trichoderma asperellum is effective Bio fungicide against Bakanae disease by inhibiting Gibberella fujikuroi.
