Product Description

About Product

  • Elpida (Emamectin) is an insecticide from the naturally occurring Avermectin group.
  • ELPIDA Insecticide effectively controls chewing pests like bollworms in cotton.
  • Elpida also targets fruit and shoot borers in okra.

ELPIDA Insecticide Technical Details

  • Technical Name: Emamectin Benzoate 5% SG
  • Mode of Action: Chloride channel activators work on nerve cells to suppress muscle contractions, leading to a continuous flow of chloride ions at the GABA and H-Glutamate receptor sites. This results in paralysis of the insect, causing it to stop feeding.

Key Features & Benefits

  • ELPIDA Insecticide acts on the nerve cells within hours to suppress muscle contraction thus inhibiting the larvae from feeding, providing rapid crop protection.
  • It controls larvae of a whole range of insects primarily by ingestion but also affects contact activity. Its activity is fast as it kills the larvae while it's still inside the egg, increasing residual activity.
  • It is ecologically selective to a wide range of beneficial species due to the rapid breakdown of the active ingredient thus limiting contact activity to a very short period.
  • Emamectin Benzoate 5% SG has a unique physiological mode of action, reducing the possibility of cross-resistance to other chemicals.
  • It stops Lepidopterans feeding within hours of ingestion, preventing subsequent crop damage.
  • ELPIDA Insecticide is currently the most potent active ingredient available against key lepidopteran pests, providing the highest efficacy at the lowest rates.
