Product Description

Benefits

  • Iron is essential for crop growth and food production.
  • It is involved in the production of chlorophyll.
  • Iron also composes many enzymes associated with energy transfer, nitrogen reduction and fixation, and lignin formation.

Dosage:

  • Drip: 1 kg/ha to 2.5 kg/ha
  • 2 to 3 applications during growing stage, before flowering & fruiting
  • Crops: Fruits (grapes, pomegranate, citrus, banana and others), Vegetables (chilli, tomato, onion, brinjal, and others) & Field Crops (cotton, rice, sugarcane, soybean, and others)

Deficiency Symptoms

  • Iron deficiencies are mainly manifested in yellowing of younger leaves due to low levels of chlorophyll.
  • Severe Fe deficiencies cause leaves to turn completely yellow or almost white, and then brown as leaves die.
  • Iron deficiencies occur mainly in calcareous (high pH) soils. Further, the cool & wet weather enhances Fe deficiencies, especially on soils with marginal levels of available Fe.
  • Poorly aerated or highly compacted land also reduces Fe uptake by plants.
  • Fe uptake is adversely affected by high levels of available phosphorus, manganese and zinc in the soil

NUTRIBUILD Chelated Fe EDTA 12% or NUTRIBUILD Chelated Fe EDDHA 6% - Which one should I use?

Fe-EDTA - This iron chelate is stable at pH below 6.5. Above pH of 7.0, nearly 50% of the iron is unavailable. Therefore this chelate is ineffective in alkaline soils. This chelate also has high affinity to calcium, so it is advised not to use it in calcium-rich soils or water. Note that EDTA is a very stable chelate of micro-elements, other than iron, even in high pH levels. Fe-EDDHA - this chelate is stable at pH levels as high as 10.5, and also effective in calcareous soil.
