The adults lay eggs in soil and the larvae, grubs live in the soil and feed on the roots. Whereas the adult beetles feed on the pollen, anthers and other flower parts causing large irregular holes. The adults feed on the leaf tissue and cause skeletonization of leaves. The beetle chew shoots and feed internal content. They chew and feed the flower buds, and flowers, which gets discoloured, wither, wilt and doesn’t set fruits, leading to economic loss of crops.
