Little leaf of brinjal is one of the major problems in cultivation of brinjal which is caused by Phytoplasma like organism. The infected plants show stunted growth, with reduced leaf size, which turn yellow later. The flower parts turn to leaf like structures called phyllody, which fail to fruit remaining sterile. If fruits are formed, they become deformed, hard, tough and fail to mature. If it occurs at the early stage it leads to complete loss of the crop. Effective precautions should be taken to avoid this disease in brinjal.
