About PBT

PBT (Trichoderma, Pseudomonas and Bacillus consortium) by Vijaya Agro Industries is a bio fungicide used for controlling fungal and bacterial diseases in standing crops. It effectively controls wilt, root rot, downy mildew, powdery mildew, anthracnose, damping off, bacterial blight, fruit rot, stem rot and oily spot in crops such as tomato, brinjal, chilli and grapes. By colonizing plant roots and producing antifungal and antibacterial compounds, PBT helps crops grow stronger and tolerate environmental stress better while also improving productivity. It works through root colonization and is suitable for foliar spray or drip irrigation in recommended crops.

PBT Technical Composition

Trichoderma, Pseudomonas and Bacillus consortium (CFU count: 2 x 10⁸/ml)

Mode of Action

PBT works through its consortium of Trichoderma, Pseudomonas and Bacillus, which colonize plant roots and produce antifungal and antibacterial compounds such as Bacillomycin, Mycosubtilin, Gliotoxin and Viridine. This action helps control the growth of harmful fungi and bacteria responsible for various plant diseases, while also supporting root growth and nutrient uptake.

Key Features and Benefits of PBT

  • Controls a wide range of fungal and bacterial diseases: Effective against wilt, root rot, downy mildew, powdery mildew, anthracnose, damping off, bacterial blight, fruit rot, stem rot and oily spot.
  • Three way bio consortium: Combines Trichoderma, Pseudomonas and Bacillus, so the crop benefits from three biocontrol agents working together instead of relying on just one.
  • Supports root growth and nutrient uptake: Stimulates root growth, promotes nutrient uptake and increases the crop's tolerance to environmental stresses.
  • Boosts crop productivity: Helps increase the overall productivity of the crop.

Compatibility, Safety and Storage

Tank Mix Compatibility

  • It is best to consult an agronomist before mixing it with any other product in the tank.

Safety Precautions

  • Wear gloves and a mask while handling and spraying, as a standard precaution.
  • Avoid spraying on windy days to prevent drift.

  • Wash hands, face and any exposed skin after use, as a general hygiene practice.
  • Keep the product out of reach of children and pets.

Storage

  • Store in a cool, dry and well ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and heat, as high temperatures can affect the viability of the live microbial cultures in PBT.

PBT Expert Advice

"Vijaya Agro Industries PBT is applied as a foliar spray or through drip irrigation as soon as disease symptoms are noticed on the crop. When using it through drip, make sure it reaches the root zone well, since PBT works by colonizing the roots and building up protection from there."–BigHaat Agronomy Expert
