• Belonging to the neonicotinoid class, it targets the central nervous system of insects, paralyzing and eliminating major pests like whiteflies, jassids, thrips, and brown plant hoppers in crops such as cotton, paddy, and sugarcane.

• Clothianidin 50% WG 

Mode of Action

• Systemic Absorption: Once applied as a foliar spray or soil drench, it is rapidly absorbed by plant roots and foliage, moving through the vascular system to protect all plant tissues.
• Receptor Binding: Clothianidin binds directly to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (AChR) on the post-synaptic membrane.
• Nerve Disruption: It acts as an agonist by mimicking acetylcholine (the natural neurotransmitter that activates the nervous system). However, unlike natural acetylcholine, clothianidin is not broken down by the enzyme acetylcholinesterase.
• Continuous Firing: This triggers continuous nerve impulses and excitation, causing the insect to stop feeding, lose motor function, and experience paralysis followed by death.
