• SUNCLEAN Herbicide is a Suntech Agriscience product.
• It contains Pretilachlor 50% EC.
• It is a selective, early post-transplanting and pre-emergence chloroacetamide herbicide formulated as an emulsifiable concentrate (EC), delivering robust weed control against a broad spectrum of annual grasses, sedges, and broadleaf weeds in paddy fields.
• SUNCLEAN Herbicide is used against major paddy weeds including Echinochloa crus-galli (barnyard grass), Echinochloa colona (jungle rice), Cyperus difformis, Cyperus iria, Fimbristylis miliacea, Eclipta alba, Ludwigia parviflora, and Monochoria vaginalis.
• It is primarily recommended for transplanted paddy (rice) and wet-sown/direct-seeded rice (DSR).

Mode of Action

• Mode of Entry: Absorbed primarily through the germinating coleoptiles, hypocotyls, and mesocotyls of emerging weed seedlings, with secondary uptake through root systems, translocating rapidly to the active vegetative growing points.
• Mode of Action: Chloroacetamide group (HRAC Group 15 / K3) herbicide that inhibits the biosynthesis of very long-chain fatty acids (VLCFAs), disrupting cell division, lipid synthesis, and membrane formation in emerging weed seedlings, leading to stunted shoot growth, twisted leaves, and rapid seedling mortality before emergence.

Dosage per Acre

• Per Acre (Broadcasting with Sand/Fertilizer): 400 ml – 600 ml mixed with 15–20 kg of dry sand or top-dressed fertilizer per acre. Per Acre (Foliar/Surface Spray): 500 ml in 150–200 litres of water per acre using a flat-fan/floodjet nozzle.
• Application Window: Apply within 0 to 4 days after transplanting (DAT) or 3 to 5 days after sowing in puddled direct-seeded rice. Maintain a shallow water layer (2–3 cm) in the field for 3–5 days after application for optimal activation and barrier formation.
