Philtre Insecticide Composition and Technical Details

• Technical Name: Chlorantraniliprole 0.4% GR
• Mode of Entry: Systemic
• Mode of Action: Philtre , containing Chlorantraniliprole, works by binding to the ryanodine receptors in insect muscle cells, causing an uncontrolled release of calcium ions. This leads to muscle paralysis and eventually death by starvation, as the insects are unable to move or feed.

• Recommendation:

• Dosage: One has to maintain at least 2-3 inches of water for the effective action of this Philtre Insecticide.
• Method of Application: In both Paddy and Sugarcane, one can use the broadcasting method of application for BASF Philtre. One has to mix the Philtre with 5-6 kg of sand which helps in the uniform distribution of the insecticide in the field.
• Time of Application: In Paddy, a farmer has to use this BASF Philtre within 15-30 Days after Transplantation. This is an ideal time where the active ingredient causes muscle paralysis and in turn, results in death by starvation.
