• EDTA is an organic chelating compound which forms a strong and stable bond with Zn and makes it available for plant uptake. EDTA has many advantages over other chelators as it is stable in acidic and alkaline conditions. It’s cheap and easily available than other chelators.

• Zinc Sulphate (25 – 36%) is most commonly used as a source of Zn in plants, which is harmful to plants at some levels.
• Zinc EDTA chelate is easily translocated within the plants, unlike ZnSO4 which is partly systemic.
• ZnSO4 reduces phosphorous uptake while Zn-EDTA increases it.
• Zinc EDTA available to plant system very quickly.
• Zinc EDTA is versatile since it can be used for all crops and all kinds of soil.
