Mode of Action

• Scent Emission (Lure) : The Brinjal Pheromone Lure releases a synthetic chemical scent that mimics the natural sex hormone (pheromone) of female borer moths.
• Attraction :  Adult male moths fly toward the trap, falsely believing a female is present for mating.
• Confinement (Funnel Trap) : Guided by the scent, the males enter the wide mouth of the Funnel Trap, fall through the narrow funnel opening into the lower collection bag or basin, and become trapped
• Mating Disruption & Population Control : Removing male moths reduces successful mating in the field. This sharply drops the number of viable eggs laid, cutting down the next generation of borer larvae that damage plant shoots and fruits
