Its one of the major diseases mainly on cucurbitaceous vegetable crops mainly on watermelon, muskmelon, squashes, cucumber and other horticulture crops. Infection occurs on all parts of the plants. Leads to blight and wilting of foliage, cankers on stem which oozes gummy brown fluid. If fungus attack fruits, cause rotting of fruits called black rot. Black fungal spores on leaves, stem, fruits. It reduces quality and yield of fruits.
